Membership Committee

Purpose: to develop and maintain mechanisms by which individuals and organizations can formally "join: the Association in its pursuit of identified goals and objectives.

Functions:

• Conduct an annual membership drive of all persons eligible for membership and encourage them to become members.
• Develop and submit to the Board of Directors an annual Income/Expense budget to be approved the first board meeting of the year, based on identified or anticipated expenditures.
• In the case of new projects, develop and submit a budget based on the desired or desirable activities.
• Develop short and long-range goals and objectives and annually review the committee's roles and functions.

Public Education Committee

Purpose: The Public Education Committee shall promote public recognition and relations on behalf of the corporation.  The committee’s goals shall be to encourage public recognition and to promote home-based family services in the State of Michigan.

This committee shall concern itself with monitoring legislation of interest to home-based family service providers.  

The committee, with the concurrence of the Board of Directors, may support legislation that supports home-based family services.

Functions:

• Develop and distribute a periodic newsletter to members.
• Develop and submit to the Board of Directors an annual Income/Expense budget, to be approved the first board meeting of the year, based on identified or anticipated expenditures.
• Develop short and long range goals and objectives and annually review the committee’s roles and functions

Training Committee

Purpose: This committee shall promote the development of professional, paraprofessional, and volunteer standards for home-based family workers.  The committee will also develop and promote certification, recognition and awards for home-based family service providers and programs.

This committee shall plan, promote and implement, training for workers and encourage other groups or agencies to implement local or regional training events related to home-based amily services throughout the year.  The committee shall also promote networking and the exchange of information and ideas among home-based family services programs.

This committee shall promote efforts to establish a scholarship for education of home-based family workers.

Functions:
